The Collective is the community of artists, makers, and musicians at the heart of Whistle. Members apply to sell their work on our marketplace, choose how much of each sale goes toward mutual aid, and decide where it goes. We help them build careers in the work they love, with promotion, community, and the Artist Hardship Pool behind them.
Shop original work and unique experiences from members of The Collective, from art and handmade goods to music lessons from working musicians. A portion of every sale goes toward mutual aid, with each artist setting their share between 1 -10 percent, because we believe commerce and care can live in the same gesture.
Mutual aid is an old idea: people caring for one another directly, without waiting for permission. Each sale on the marketplace directs a percentage to Artist Hardship Pool, for artists facing an emergency, or to the Direct Aid Pool, for community members facing food insecurity, people leaving domestic violence, and others in urgent need. We are transparent in our giving.
